American Reunion will be released on April 6th, 2012. This is Universal Pictures’ sequel to the American Pie franchise that reunites the original cast. []

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Danny Trejo will star in director Terry Miles’ indie action movie Recoil for Nasser Group North. John Sullivan wrote the script about an ex-cop out to avenge the murder of his family and the killer out for revenge on the ex-cop. [Variety (Paywall)]

Rpin Suwannath will make his directing debut on Zorro Reborn for 20th Century Fox. Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy wrote the screenplay which sees the Mexican legend resuscitated in a post-apocalyptic future. [24 Frames]

Jeremy Renner, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer, Drake and Jennifer Lopez are all set to join the cast of the animated sequel Ice Age: Continental Drift for Fox Animation Studios and Blue Sky Studios. Returning cast includes Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Dennis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck. []

Johnny Pemberton has a role in Paul Lord and Chris Miller’s update of 21 Jump Street. He joins a cast that includes Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ice Cube, Rob Riggle, Brie Larson and Johnny Depp. Neal Moritz producing. [Variety (Paywall)]

Anthony Mandler will direct Die In A Gunfight for Media Rights Capital. Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer wrote the script. Zac Efron is attached to star. Mark Gordon and Jennifer Todd are producing. []

Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Tony Stark’s computerized butler J.A.R.V.I.S. in Marvel Entertainment’s The Avengers. He’s previously played the role in the Iron Man movies. [MTV Splash Page]

Christopher Weekes will write the script for the biopic adaptation of Mitchell Zuckoff’s book Ponzi’s Scheme: The True Story of a Financial Legend. Milos Forman is in talks to direct. Story focuses on real-life figure Charles Ponzi who originated the investment scam that bears his name.  [Variety (Paywall)]

Justin Rhodes has been tapped to write the screenplay for the adaptation of Rick Veitch‘s comic Brat Pack. [Bleeding Cool]

Chris Morgan is writing the script for Fast Six, the next installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise. Plans are to use this weekend’s Fast Five as a pivot point away from street racing and towards Ocean’s 11 style heist capers. Paul Walker will star in director Mukunda Michael Dewil’s thriller Vehicle 19. Dewil wrote the script about an American abroad who gets caught up in a dangerous situation in a South African city involving the corrupt local police.  Walker is also an executive producer on the project. Tim Story will direct the adaptation of Steve Harvey’s Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man for Screen Gems. Production starts in July. Kevin Hart stars. Keith Merryman and David A. Newman wrote the script. []
