Blake Lively, John Travolta and Uma Thurman are the latest to join the cast of director Oliver Stone’s adaptation of Don Winslow’s novel Savages. Lively plays the female lead of O, opposite dueling love interests Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson.  Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro are also on board. []

Jessica Stroup has joined the cast of writer/director Seth MacFarlane’s Ted for Media Rights Capital. She joins Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, Giovanni Ribisi and Patrick Warburton in the film about a man (Wahlberg) who’s childhood Teddy Bear was wished to life as his BFF some twenty-five years earlier. Nanette Burstein has been hired to direct Focus Features’s Unforgiving World from a script by Nicole Holofcener. The film is a remake of a French movie about a married couple working for the same employer and competing for the same life-changing opportunity. [Risky Business]

Jake Johnson will appear in writer/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s 21 Jump Street. He joins Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco among the cast. Neal Moritz produces the update of the now-classic TV series. [Variety (Paywall)]

Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin are all looking to board Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad for Warner Bros. The studio has extended offers to Penn to play Mickey Cohen. Gosling and Brolin will play cops looking to take Cohen down. Will Beall wrote the script for the crime drama. Dan Lin and Kevin McCormick are producing. []

Lindsay Lohan is apparently appearing in Gotti: Three Generations after all. Hot on the heels of news that producers had broken off talks with her to play Victoria Gotti, the actress now says she’s back and playing Kim, wife of John Gotti Jr. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Thomas Mann will star in director Josh Schwartz’s Fun Size for Paramount Pictures. Mann will play the love interest of leading lady Victoria Justice who has lost her kid brother on Halloween night. [Variety (Paywall)]

Katie Wech is writing the script for an untitled teen movie for Walth Disney Pictures. The film may be configured as a sequel to the studio’s upcoming release Prom (which Wech also wrote) should that movie fare well when it opens next week. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Dan Fogelman has sold his pitch for an untitled politician drama for near $2 million to Warner Bros in a bidding war. Tom Cruise is attached to play the ruined politician whose reputation takes a hit after an affair becomes public. []
