Breck Eisner may direct The Last Witch Hunter for Summit Entertainment. The Crazies director is said to be in early talks to helm the film based on the script by Cory Goodman. Timur Bekmambetov was previously attached to direct and will stay on as a producer. [Deadline.com]

Albert Brooks and Megan Fox are separately in talks to appear in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up spin-off for Universal Pictues. The movie will see the return of Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd’s married couple who were supporting players in the previous movie. Brooks would play Rudd’s father. Fox’s role has not been disclosed. Val Kilmer will play the title role in The First Ride of Wyatt Earp for director Mike Feifer. Darren Benjamin Shepherd wrote the script which features an elderly Earp recalling the ride that made him a legend. Cast includes Daniel Booko, Trace Adkins, Diana DeGarmo, Matt Dallas, Wilson Bethel, Shawn Roberts, Stephen Grayhm, Scott Whyte and Levi Fiehler. [Variety.com (Paywall)]

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is courting directors from a list that includes Craig Gillespie,  David Katzenberg and the author of the book itself Seth Grahame-Smith. Grahame-Smith and Katzenberg are producing the movie and would direct as a team.  The film is set up at Lionsgate. [Heat Vision]

Liam Neeson is set to return for the sequel Taken 2. He’s reportedly worked out scheduling problems that seemed to prevent him from taking the role. Luc Besson is producing again. Robert Mark Kamen has written the new script. Olivier Megaton is in talks to direct. Plans are to shoot the film this year in Istanbul. 20th Century Fox will likely handle distribution.  [Deadline.com]

Peter Buchman has sold a pitch for a mysterious, possibly science fiction movie to 20th Century Fox. John Moore is attached to direct the project as well as produce along with John Davis. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Brian Miller has sold a pitch for an untitled science fiction movie to Paramount Pictures. Miller previously broke in with the upcoming Apollo 18. [Deadline.com]

Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy have all signed on for American Reunion, reuniting the original cast of the still-running American Pie franchise. Universal Pictures is still looking to sign Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge to return. No mention is made of Alyson Hannigan who would seem to be critical to the success of such a movie. Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have written a script for the film which they would direct.  [The Hollywood Reporter]

Tommy Lee Jones is said to be the top contender to co-star with Meryl Streep in Great Hope Springs. The Mandate Pictures film, directed by David Frankel focuses on a couple with a troubled marriage. Steve Carell also stars as their therapist helping them stave off divorce. [Deadline.com]

Joshua Foer has sold the film rights to his book Moonwalking With Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything to Columbia Pictures. Story focuses on Foer’s entry into the U.S. Memory Championship. Matt Tolmach is producing. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Michelle Ryan has taken the female lead in the soon-to-lens Cockneys vs. Zombies. Harry Treadaway plays her bank-robbing partner as the pair come up against zombie Armageddon. Honor Blackman also appears. Matthias Hoene is directing from a script by James Moran. [Deadline.com]

Karl Gajdusek is set to re-write Joseph Kosinski’s Disney pic Oblivion, which is now called Horizons. The concept was introduced as an illustrated book by Radical Publishing. William Monahan wrote the previous draft. Kosinski,  Barry Levine, and Jeffrey Silver are producing.  [The Hollywood Reporter]
